Zinc sulfate
Description : Scientific name: Zinc Sulfate
Zinc sulfate is the inorganic compound with the formula ZnSO4 as well as any of three hydrates. It was historically known as "white vitriol". All of the various forms are colorless solids. The heptahydrate is commonly encountered. This element is like pearls ad have 1,6,7 water molecule or salt without any water. Among different types of Zinc Sulfate with seven H2O and ZnSo4. has especial value.
Zinc is ingredient which is necessary in small amount for plant life in order to continue their biological activities because these activities play an important role in photosynthesis process, production of sugar, protein synthesis, fertility, and also resistance against disease. When there is deficiency in needed zinc, these biological activities stop working gradually and affect health and fertility of plants which result in quality reduction.
Among essential micronutrients, Zinc Sulfate has many advantages. Discovering zinc deficiency is very simple in products. Usually soil and leaf analysis provide good results regarding probability of deficiency occurrence and there are a lot of solutions to prompt and effective cure.
Zinc naturally exists as sulfate, silicate and carbonate minerals on earths crust and increases it’s solubility by reduction of PH, as a result there is severe zinc deficiency in calcareous soils.
Zinc plays catalytic role in many plant ‘enzyme systems and is involved in protein synthesis and plant’ seed production. Amount of zinc has inverse relation with the age of the plants. The old plants contain a lower zinc regarding to younger ones. Overuse of phosphorus fertilizers results in zinc deficiency. The more phosphorus, results in reduced root growth and also lower solubility of zinc in the soil.
The most suitable fertilizer to eliminate this problem is zinc sulfate. The amount of zinc along with water is between 22% and 24%. On the corn, rice, soya and small grains farms add 40 kg zinc sulfate to soil before planting but the amount is different in apple, pear, pistachios, and other citrus trees. It is about 100-250 gr.
Application of zinc sulfate:
Agriculture
Protection for skin and leather
Pulp tire industry
Pulp and paper industry
As the electrolyte in the electrolytic zinc
As a mordant in dyeing
Coagulants in the production of rayon
Color pigments and related products
In animals’ feed
In fertilizers and sprays
