Description : Scientific name: Blue Silica Gel
Silica Gel is used as the most powerful and effective dehumidificator among all dehumidificators.the moisture in the air always has damages and impacts the products in producing proses, storage and transport stages. The smell of humidity, corrosion, mold, fungus, rust, fog corrosion are from deleterious effects of moisture.
Silica Gel decreases the relative humidity of its surrounding environment with the absorbtion of water molecules. Consequently, it protects any kind of substance against the harmful effects and damages of moisture in production, storage and transport stages.
Blue silica gel is obtained from the combination of silica gel with cobalt salt. This new combination, changes from dark blue into pink when it is statured with moisture.
This kind of Silica gel is in dark blue color or purple and after absorbing moisture, it gradually changes into pink or light pink. In this stage, Silica gel must be changed or be restored.
Blue silica gel is mostly used for the products which are more sensitive to air moisture because it is easily recognizable when it is satiated with moisture. Also, it is better that this kind of silica gel be used less in drug or food industry. This silica gel can be restored in 120º temperature and can be used again. Although it loses some of its absorption after each restoring and it`s usage isn`t recommended in sensitive cases.
Some uses of silica Gel:
-double glazing glass
-Air adsorption dryers
-Military equipment and weapons
-Oil, gas and petro chemical industries
