Hydrogen peroxide|Korean

Hydrogen peroxide is a chemical compound with the formula H 2O 2. In its pure form, it is a colorless liquid, slightly more viscous than water. Hydrogen peroxide is the simplest peroxide. It is used as an oxidizer, bleaching agent and disinfectant. Concentrated hydrogen peroxide, or "high-test peroxide", is a reactive oxygen species and has been used as a propellant in rocketry.

Hydrogen peroxide is unstable and slowly decomposes in the presence of a catalyst.. Hydrogen peroxide is found in biological systems including the human body. Enzymes that use or decompose hydrogen peroxide are classified as peroxidases.

About 60% of the world's production of hydrogen peroxide is used for pulp- and paper-bleaching. The second major industrial application is the manufacture of sodium percarbonate and sodium perborate which are used as mild bleaches in laundry detergents. Hydrogen peroxide can be used for the sterilization of various surfaces, including surgical tools. and may be deployed as a vapour for room sterilization
